A Unique Task provides independent mitigation consultancy services for residential and commercial properties following water, fire, storm, and environmental losses across Manitoba and Western Canada. Mitigation consultancy is focused on oversight, documentation, and technical guidance during the emergency response and restoration phase of a loss. Our role is to ensure mitigation work is appropriate, reasonable, properly documented, and aligned with industry standards, insurance policy requirements, and best practices. Services may include pre-mitigation condition documentation, scope and method review, moisture mapping and monitoring oversight, equipment and drying strategy evaluation, progress inspections, and post-mitigation verification. We also provide second opinions where mitigation performance, timelines, or costs are in question. Mitigation consultancy is commonly used by property owners, insurers, adjusters, brokers, legal teams, and property managers who require clarity, transparency, and defensible documentation during a claim. Our inspections help reduce disputes, prevent over- or under-mitigation, and support informed decision-making. All services are provided independently with no contractor affiliation or repair bias.
